Starting with a photograph: Saatchi artists at the Michael Hoppen gallery

These images are brilliant! Artists from the Saatchi collection are asked to revist their photography and make new work from it. I’meally noticing similarities to a trend with our students here at Otago Polytechnic of look past the initial image and into alternative, new and ‘traditional’ photographic practices to create a very new photograph…the result here is exciting, fresh images…look on!

Six, fresh and exciting images, a preview of an exhibition of new works by six artists from Saatchi artists online, opening in London tomorrow. Working from their own photographs – found or made – the artists have spun the images into unique and unusual works of art. Starting with a Photograph is at the Michael Hoppen Contemporary gallery until 12 October 2009

Okay, here’s one more…
